Update

I had my appointment with the surgeon today. My surgery will be at 7:00 AM Friday morning. The doctor said I will most likely be in the hospital 6 to 7 days. Staying there that long should have me in decent shape when I come home. LOL whatever "decent shape" means. Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers... I'll post an update when I get home and I'm able.

Thanks for the flowers mom, Mike, Dan and Jim. They sure are pretty and go really well with my Christmas decorations!

There are pine cones in the flowers Mom. I didn't see them until I took the photo. They're really very pretty. Thanks so much. I should know tomorrow when they'll schedule my surgery. I hope it's soon. The waiting is the worst part.

Well, we decided to pull out all the Christmas decorations this year since everyone was home for Thanksgiving. I think this is the first time I've put up the tree the day before Thanksgiving!

Abram was coming and of course I predicted what he would say when he came in the house....Wassdat! but I never thought he'd get so serious and follow that up with a huge "WOW"!

Happy Birthday ABRAM!!!

Joe and I went to Helena, Alabama for Abram's 2nd birthday this past weekend. This was our first trip to the Raisor house. We had a wonderful time. It sure was good to see Beth, Kris and Abram again. I hadn't seen them since the wedding in May and how Abram has grown!

He's the cutest little dude. He certainly enjoyed his birthday. Here's a few photos. Natalie and JJ were there as well. It's been a while since we've had the family together and we really had a good time. Enjoy the photos!

Wow...Bruce Pearl...

Yes, it's Bruce Pearl, head coach for the University of Tennessee Vols. Bruce was our featured speaker for our United Way fund drive this past Friday. Jean, a good friend from work and I were lucky enough to walk him into a crowd of 250 Vol faithful where we work.

Here's today's update on Mom:

She's just sitting around trying to get better. She said it's kind of boring but Mike will be bringing her TV down to her so she can have something to keep her entertained. She hasn't been down to the activity center due to the apparatus she has on her foot. She said it was too cumbersome to move around in and will take part in the activities when it's off. She still goes to kidney dialysis on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and said she'd string beans for Mike and Janice if they'd bring them to her on Tuesdays and Thursdays LOL....so pick some more beans Mike! Here's your chance to not have to string them... too funny.

She sounds really good and said she's feeling better every day. That's all for today!

Mom - Back in Hospital

Well, Mom is back in the hospital. She had surgery yesterday and they removed the toes from her left foot. She did well during the surgery and said she will most likely be released on Monday. Thank you Mike & Janice for taking Mom to the ER and staying with her during her surgery. We just don't know what Mom would do without your help.

I'm glad I was able to come up and take her to the reunion. She made the comment to me that she really had a good time, the best time in years... Get well soon Mom!

Update Sunday, July13 - Just spoke with Mom. She said that she will be released on Tuesday and will be going back to Pickaway Manor for rehabilitation. She also said the doctor states she will be in shoes by the end of one month which is GREAT news!!

What a stately lookin' bunch!

Yes!!! I'll be in this year's book!! I was trying to prove to Marvin that I had attended the reunions once every 10 years....Well, I won!... I was actually at the reunion in 2002 but I didn't make it there in time for the photos. I locked my keys in my car at Don and Hap Shannon's and if you've ever been out there....well let's just say AAA had an eventful time getting there. The fact is I DID make it to the reunion but everyone was more or less packing up when I got there.... I did much better this time. There was a really good crowd this year in Portsmouth. There was so much food!! It was just awesome!! It was really good seeing everyone again and looking through all the pictures from year's past. Here's a few photos that we took this year. I'm glad mom was healthy enough to go. She had a great time!

Natalie and Jason Married May 17, 2008

Well, it's official. Natalie and Jason were married Saturday, May 17, at the Tellico Village Yacht Club in Lenoir City, TN. Everyone had a wonderful time. We're so happy to have JJ in our family. Natalie did a great job with the wedding. I'm very proud of both of them.
