The Week of PlayDoh...

Just look at this innocent little face....

While mama was in the hospital I helped to keep Abram happy. Well let me tell you, it wasn't as rough as I thought it would be. He's a good little boy who LOVES PlayDoh!!

We had to smash it down to look like a pile of dirt so Percy and Duncan could run through it and make tracks...because as Abram would say..."wow...cool Nana".

Then of course Salty had to get into the picture. Oh, for those of you who don't know...Abram taught me all the trains from Thomas the Train cartoons. I think he has most of them and I knew who everyone was by the end of my first day. He actually had me wanting to watch the cartoons! What's this world coming to?
We had a good time and I guess that's all that counts....

Springtime in Tennessee....

I hate mowing the front yard. That's why I hire someone to do it!

Joe did a good job cutting these back last year. The flowers are really pretty this time.

Mom... I told you I had a dogwood tree by my house....

Neighbor's dogwoods.

Easter Sunday Services - Scioto Chapel Church

The Scioto Chapel Church was really pretty today. There must have been 50 Easter Lilli's on the alter. It was good to see some familiar faces and some that I thought I didn't know that I really did!

Here's a picture of Mary Emerine, Mom and a lady I met today and didn't catch her name. I got to see Paul, Norma, Jackie, Terry, Allison and Vicki. It's always good to see them of course!

Ok, on our way to Bonnie's soon!! Be looking for more pictures!

Happy Easter!

Dear President Obama.....thanks Jim, this was a good one!

Dear President Obama,

Thank you for helping my neighbors with their mortgage payments. You know, the one's down the street who in the good times refinanced their house several times and bought SUV's, ATV's, RV"s, a pool, a big screen, two Wave Runners and a Harley. I was wondering, since I am paying my mortgage and theirs, could you arrange for me to borrow the Harley now and then?

A taxpayer,
Eureka Ca.

P.S. They also need help with their credit cards, when do you want me to start making those payments?

P.P.S. I almost forgot - they didn't file their income tax return this year. Should I go ahead and file for them or will you be appointing them to cabinet posts?

West Portsmouth Man Dies After Collision

By CRAIG ALLISONSTAFF WRITER

Published: Saturday, April 11, 2009 8:56 AM EDT

A West Portsmouth man was killed in a three car accident in Pickaway County at 12:19 p.m. Friday. The accident occurred on State Route 104, just north of the intersection with State Route 316 in Scioto Township. The dead man was identified as Samuel J. Carver, 46.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff Dwight Radcliff, Carver was southbound in a 2000 Cougar and was in the process of slowing his vehicle because a vehicle in front of him had slowed and made a left turn into a driveway. When Carver slowed his vehicle he was struck from the rear by a 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Robert Hammonds, 23, of Portsmouth. Hammonds was towing a second vehicle with his pickup truck. The impact from the crash forced Carver’s vehicle into the northbound lanes of traffic where it was struck by a 2009 Toyota Tacoma driven by Beverly Rentz, 54, of Thompson Road, Ashville. According to Pickaway County Deputy Sheriff Todd Fortner who is coordinating the crash investigation, Carver and Hammonds were traveling together as part of a group of persons transporting vehicles from the Grove City Auto Auction and were enroute back to Portsmouth when the accident took place. Carver was removed from the wreckage and was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Rentz was transported to Grant by medics from the Harrison Township Fire Department. According to Fortner her condition listed by hospital personnel Friday evening was stable “but requiring surgical intervention.” Hammonds was not injured in the crash. According to Deputy Fortner, Carver was the only driver not wearing a seat belt. Deputy Fortner was assisted at the scene by PCSO Deputies Hunter Lane and Casey Thress, Ohio Highway Patrol troopers from Post 65, and a medic unit from the Jackson Township Fire Department from Grove City. Fortner stated that the accident remained under investigation Friday evening and that charges could be filed against Hammonds pending completion of that investigation.

Why It's Dangerous Driving on Ste Rt 104....

I was coming back from putting flowers on Dad's grave today and it was raining pretty hard. As you know, it's a pain turning into Mom's driveway because of that dip going towards 316. I was going south, turned on my turn signal and was waiting for the north bound traffic to clear so I could turn.

I looked in the rear view mirror and saw a pickup truck behind me. There was a little blue car behind the pickup truck and a blue pickup coming up fast behind. I told mom to hold on there was going to be a crash. Well there sure was. People fly down this road and this is what can happen... We didn't get hit but if the white pickup hadn't been behind us, we would have been history.

The man driving the little blue car was hurt pretty bad. They took him away in an ambulance while giving him CPR. The blue truck hit the blue car in the rear end then the gray truck hit the blue car in the front and turned it away from the truck that was right behind us. We were very lucky.

So, when you come to see Mom.... watch out for the guy behind you!

It's not the first wreck we've seen here over
the years and I'm sure it won't be the last. Be careful!

Wonderful job Angela!!!

Babies and more babies!!

Wish I would have had my camera! This was taken with my cell phone. This is Angie's baby!! He was born 6 days after Lisa's baby, Sam.

What a cutie!!! I'd try to spell his name but I'd mess it up. I'll see if Carol or Angie will send it to me.

Went to Doris and Norm's today. Was really good to see everyone. Saw Linda's little boy...he's another cutie. I think he got mad at me when I said he looked like his mommy. He said "I don't look like my mommy, I'm a boy!" I cracked up. Then I said you look like your daddy too! He gave me the thumbs up. Don't want to question one's manly hood so soon LOL. He's all boy!

Carol, Josie, Kimberly and Angela were there. It was good to have the time to catch up on all the news.

I swear, my cousins are Grandparents!!! LOL so am I!!! Time has just gotten away from us I guess.

Well, more baby pictures on Sunday! Mom and I are going to Bonnie's for Easter dinner. Can't wait to see everyone and see little Maddie and Drew, Sarah and James! Be looking for more photos!

Amazing tulips....

Joe, Beth, Natalie and I moved to Tennessee in 1986. The first year we lived here Beth wanted to plant some flowers in the back yard. Every year this is the only flower that blooms... a lonely tulip. Well, this year I thought I'd go move the bricks and clean that area out and plant some onions and lettuce since we're a family of wilted lettuce freaks.... I started moving the bricks around and noticed that the tulip grew up through one of the bricks!
What a site! All that space and it finds a way out of a brick. Somehow this amazes me....
